Finishing Operator
Position Overview:
The Finishing Operator is responsible for trimming parts in accordance with customer requirements, using a variety of hand tools.  
Specific duties include:
  • Trimming off tabs from plastic and aluminum parts using tools such as, but not limited to, hobby knives, utility knives, diagonal-cutting pliers, grinders and sanders
  • Count and package parts according to requirements and enter process information into the computer
  • Ensure that order quantities and customer specifications have been met
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Good writing and oral communication skill
  • Able to comprehend and follow printed and computer-screen instructions
  • Able to use a computer, calculator, read and write in English and do basic arithmetic
  • Able to work safely with sharp tools and objects using tools such as, but not limited to, hobby knives, utility knives, diagonal-cutting pliers, grinders, and sanders
  • Ability to identify quality issues relating to trimming, milling, packaging, and order fulfillment
Milling Operator
Position Overview:
Setup, operate & troubleshoot three-axis CNC mills.

Specific duties:
  • Adhere to and promote all Safety and Quality standards within the department.
  • Process jobs in accordance with manufacturing priority process.
  • Identify and address error codes.
  • Inspect machined components for accuracy.  Provide feedback on tool breakage & machining issues.
  • Enter operational data regarding status of molds into database.
  • Promote and sustain all Lean Manufacturing initiatives within the work area with particular emphasis on cleaning and organization.
  • Operate power tools such as band saws & manual mills.
  • Continually seek to improve work processes & individual performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies & operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Provide feedback regarding machining issues to engineers, designers & management.
  • Use plate beveller to remove sharp edges from aluminum plates.
  • Load stock and required tools into machining centers.
  • Insert cutting tools into tool holders as well as ensure accuracy of tool assembly by inspecting fit & runout.
  • Inspect condition of cutting tools and disposition worn and/or defective tools.
  • Clean & maintain machining centers, empty chip bins, clean out chip debris, replenish coolant, & add lubricant.
  • Setup milling machine (part probe, tool probe).
